Soccer Camp
 
 
ST. JOHN’S SOCCER CAMP 2019

We invite your child to enjoy a fun week of soccer and Christian fellowship at St. John’s Soccer Camp, held August 5 – 9, 2019, from 9:00 to 11:30 on the soccer fields at St. John’s Lutheran School.

Children ages 4 - 14 are invited to attend. The sessions will emphasize individual ball skills as well as fun games to put those skills into practice and develop teamwork. From fun introductory sessions for the youngest players to more intensive technical and tactical sessions for advanced players, all players are grouped by age and ability to ensure the best balance of fun, challenge, teamwork, and skill development.


Families are invited to watch as soccer campers play a scrimmage on Friday at 11:00.  Lunch will be served following the scrimmage for soccer players and families. 


SONBEAMS WILL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY
Children ages 2-4 are invited to attend on Wednesday, August 7 and Friday, August 9 from 9:00 – 11:00. Parent/guardian are welcome to attend, also.  This session is free.  Activities will take place in the gym, classrooms, and on the playground, and are geared especially for the little ones.  A snack will be included both days, as well as a lunch beginning at 11 am on Friday.


EXPERIENCED COACHES AND DEDICATED TEACHERS
Our Camp coaching staff is made up of experienced players who excel at sharing their passion for soccer and their Savior with children.  All have an enthusiasm for working with children.
 
 
 
DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP
On the morning of the 5th, bring your child to the soccer field at St. John’s.  You will need to verify your child's registration at the table. At that time your child will be escorted to their team area by one of the group leaders. Your child will remain with their group and group leader throughout the course of the day until they are picked up at 11:30. You will sign your child out by proceeding to their group area and signing the child out.   If someone other than a parent/guardian is picking the child up we must know about it in advance. 

Children should be dropped off after 8:45 a.m., but no later than 9:00 a.m. They should be picked up no later than 11:45 a.m. on Monday - Thursday. On Friday, children should be picked up between 12:30 and 12:45.
 
 
WHAT TO BRING
  • Wear athletic shorts and the camp shirt that will be handed out on the first day of camp
  • Shin guards (highly recommended)
  • Soccer shoes (recommended, but not required). If you do not have soccer shoes, athletic shoes are required.
  • Sunscreen before you arrive, if necessary
 
 
*There is no need to bring water bottles and snacks. Water and snacks will be provided.
 
 
 
 

WEATHER POLICY

In the event of light rainy weather, we will continue to run the camp. The camp participants are invited to keep participating as long as they are comfortable doing so. 

In the event of heavy rain and/or lightning and thunder we will go inside St. John’s gym for inside drills and games, or until the weather passes and it is deemed safe to play again.

If the weather is so uncooperative (all-day downpour or lighting, thunder, etc.) before the day’s camp even begins, we will cancel the day’s activities before children get dropped off.  It will be announced on our website (www.stjohnsfoxlake.org) and FaceBook page, if this is the case.
 

REGISTRATION

Registration closes on Monday, July 22.  The fee for Soccer Camp (4-14  year olds) is $25. There is no fee for Sonbeams.  Children age 4 may sign up for the Soccer Camp or register for Sonbeams. (Not both.)

Your child's spot is reserved once payment is received. The registration page will accept payment through PayPal. Please follow the link on the registration page.  (However, if you need the paypal info, it is paypal.me/stjohnsfoxlake.)   You may also mail a check to St. John’s at 110 Edgelawn Dr., Fox Lake, WI  53933.  Payment MUST be received by Wednesday, July 24.
